BSE Training Institute inks agreement with IGNOU

BSE Training Institute (BTIL) ton Tuesday signed an memorandum of understanding with Indira Gandhi National Open University Ignou to launch a two-year, full time MBA specialisation in ‘Financial Markets’



The classes for the course will commence in May 2011, BTIL said in a statement.



"The course being offered is a full time degree specially designed to suit the requirements of students planning to make a career in financial markets. We plan to cover vital concepts related to exchanges which will help the students spearhead the financ ial industry," IGNOU Vice Chancellor, Mr V N Rajasekharan Pillai, said.



"Our MBA in finance markets is an experiential learning programme, in which one will learn by interacting with the masters in the industry and participating and witnessing live events as they happen," BTIL Managing Director, Mr Ambarish Datta, said. BTIL, backed by Bombay Stock Exchange, is the only educational institute in the country offering a specialised course specifically designed for the study of financial markets.



IGNOU involves a large number of senior teachers and experts from premier institutions in the country as 'content experts' for developing and delivering its course material.



The University has established a network of 43 Regional Centres (RCs), 6 Sub-Regional Centres and 1,400 Study Centres (SCs) all over the country to provide easy access and effective support services to the learners. These include Programme Study Centres (PSCs), as well as Special Study Centres for SC/STs, minorities, differently-abled learners, jail inmates, and personnel of different wings of Defence and Para-military services.



The University has also begun to focus on the educationally backward regions. New educational and training initiatives in the North-Eastern states and Sikkim are currently under way. These initiatives would lead to the creation of basic infrastructure in the region, using the latest in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for the region.
